Edward Joseph Foley of Mansfield, Massachusetts passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on June 23, 2012. Beloved husband of Patricia Y. Foley for 45 years. Ed was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, MA.
Ed was born on February 16, 1932, son of the late Margaret J. and Stephen J. Foley of East Walpole. He graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1949, attended Northeastern University, and served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Ed worked with the Norfolk County Deputy Sherriff's Department and later as an inspector for the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. He was a Transportation and Manufacturers' Representative for 40 years and founded EJAM Associates in 1983 and was Secretary-Treasurer of the Boston Traffic Association since 1974. He was a board member of the Boston Athletic Association, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club. He was an avid golfer and loved to be out on the course with friends and family. He also enjoyed his work on a variety of political campaigns at both state and federal level elections.
Ed is survived by his three children: Edward J. Foley and his wife Karen of Scarborough MA, James P. Foley and his wife Michelle, Ann Marie Hunt and her husband Eric all of Norton MA. Cherished grandfather of Jacqueline and Jillian Foley; Joseph, James, Jenna and Jamie Lynn Foley; Allison, Hannah and Brice Hunt.
Brother of Robert Foley of Stoughton, Margaret (Peggy) Foley of Falmouth, Claire Baldassari of Wilmington, and Francis Foley of East Walpole. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held between 4:00 and 8:00 pm Thursday, June 28th, at Delaney Funeral Home, 48 Common Street Walpole MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Washington St., East Walpole MA 9:00 am Friday, June 29th, with burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Walpole, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA.
