Mrs. Edna G. (Mackness) Fay age 84 years died at Epoch of Norton on Friday evening, August 23, 2013. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Grace (Gilmore) Mackness. Edna has been a resident of South Attleboro for the past 20 years moving there from North Attleboro and East Walpole.
Mrs. Fay was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles, family genealogy and being with her friends.
She was active in Girl Scouts for over 40 years, where she served as a troop leader, outdoor skills trainer for other leaders, and Bird Day Camp director. She served on the Walpole Center Board and had earned numerous awards from the Girl Scout Council for her outstanding service.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph John Fay. Loving mother of Debbie and her husband Richard Conti of North Attleboro, Linda and her husband Tom Daly of Nantucket, John Fay of Attleboro, and Donna and her husband John Fay-Baptista of Cumberland, RI. Cherished grandmother of Wendy Gama, Melissa Conti-Turnquist, Amanda Cyr and the late Jeremy Conti. Great Grandmother of Alison, Elizabeth, Adriana and Aidan. Sister of Ernest Mackness of Lowell and Horace Mackness of Canton.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral Service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 @ 10AM. Visiting hours are Monday, August 26, 2013 from 4pm to 8pm. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park. Canton.
