Dorothy P. Verrochi

Dorothy P. Verrochi, age 87, passed away in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.  Born in her parent’s home in Norfolk, Massachusetts on December 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Cecile W. (Warner) Trank.  She was raised in Norfolk and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1949.  After graduation, Dorothy found work with the Diamond Match Company in South Walpole, taking a secretarial position. 

 

Dorothy married her beloved husband, Thomas Verrochi, Jr., on May 20, 1950 in Saint Mary’s Church in East Walpole.  The young couple made their home together on Moose Hill Road in East Walpole, where Dorothy took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her three children.  As her children grew up, Dorothy returned to the working world, taking a position as a travel agent, working with Edgewood Travel in downtown Walpole in 1970.  Five years later, she joined her husband at Gilmore’s in Walpole, taking on the role of the company secretary. 

 

In her spare time, Dorothy loved listening to classical music as she prepared meals in her home for all to enjoy.  She enjoyed taking car trips to Vermont with Tom, often spending the weekend.  Most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family, opening her home up to her children and grandchildren on Saturdays and Sundays.  She took great pride in hosting all of the family get togethers and holidays at her home, always making sure everything was perfect.

Loving mother of Donna M. Pesce and her husband John of North Attleboro, Katherine V. Durante and her husband Jerry of Walpole, and Thomas D. Verrochi and his wife Karen of Mansfield.

Cherished grandmother of Michael, Jennifer, Thomas, Mark, Andrea, and Nicholas and great grandmother of Maylin, JohnPatrick, David, and Christopher.

Sister of Cecile M. Verrochi of Wrentham, the late Jessie M. Boyden, the late Allen L. Trank, the late George Trank, and the late Evelyn M. Verrochi.

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Dorothy’s Visitation on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM and Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 9 to 9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary’s Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
