Donald L. Crummet

Donald L. Crummet, Sr. age 77 years died in the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on April 30, 1933; he was the son of the late Leon N. and Ellen W. (Ekholm) Crummet. He graduated from Norwood High School with the class of 1952. After high school, Mr. Crummet served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1974 moving from Norwood.

He worked in the Teamsters Union at the A&P Warehouse in Westwood, Massachusetts for 30 years, retiring in 1982. After retiring, Mr. Crummet worked in the Walpole High School as a custodian for 10 years.

Mr. Crummet was a member of the Monday and Thursday Morning Senior Bowling League at Norwood Sports Center, played softball for the Myopia Club in Islington, and sang in the Barber Shop Quartette in Westwood. He was also a member of the Norwood High School Class of 1952 Reunion Committee.

He enjoyed following Walpole High School Rebels Football.

Beloved husband of the late Elaine Ann (Jazz) Crummet. Loving father of Linda E. Kehoe of Norwood, Donald L. Crummet, Jr. of Bellingham, Alan H. Crummet of Walpole, Glenn R. Whittemore of Ft. Myers, FL, Gary W. Whittemore of Walpole, and Scott J. Whittemore of Kennesaw , GA. Cherished grandfather of Meghan, James, Maryellen, Donald, III, Michael, Steven, Alysa, Gabriel, Benjamin, Ryan, Connor, Erin, and Amy.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service that will be held in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church 24 Berwick St. Norwood on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Friday, May 28, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery Norwood.
