Dominic P. Nolfi, Jr., age 75, passed away in the Curahealth Hospital in Stoughton, Massachusetts on Sunday, July 29, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on November 20, 1942, he was the son of the late Dominic P. and Vincenza M. (Silvi) Nolfi. He was raised at 316 Main Street in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1960. After graduation, Dom proudly volunteered his service in the Massachusetts National Guard for three years and went on to attend Bentley College.
Dom began his working career alongside his uncles at the Walpole Post Office. He worked for many years as a letter carrier, taking on the route near Saint Francis Cemetery, including South Street, Irving Drive, Route 1, and the Ice Rink. He retired from the Post Office on January 3, 2006, after more than 40 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Walpole. In addition to the Post Office, Dom followed his love for horse racing to the Foxboro Race Track, taking a position at the window, working with his uncles.
Throughout his life, Dom loved playing countless rounds of golf. He regularly played in a Thursday night league with friends at the Heather Hill Country Club and could be found at all the Walpole charity tournaments. As bowling was a close second to golf, Dom enjoyed spending time at PJ's Lanes in Walpole and the Norwood Sports Center. Dom was incredibly proud of his Italian heritage, and as such was a long-time member of the Italian American Club in Walpole, spending many evenings playing cards with his fellow members. In addition, as a life long resident of Walpole, Dom loved cheering on the local Walpole teams to victory.
Most of all, Dom was a dedicated family man, who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always sure to attend his grandchildren's events and athletic competitions and was incredibly proud of their accomplishments.
Loving father of Jennifer A. Michienzi and her husband John of Stoughton, Stephanie M. Pitts and her husband Riley of Butte Falls, Oregon, and Keith F. Nolfi and his wife Tracey Cesso of Quincy.
Cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Krista, Naomi, Brooke, Cascade, Myla, Leonardo, and Stella.
Brother of Dennis R. Nolfi and his wife Sandy of Reading.
Also survived by his niece, Amy, and nephew, Matt.
