Domenic E. Ierardo

Domenic E. Ierardo, age 87, passed away in the Norwood Hospital on Monday, October 30, 2017. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts on May 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Grazia (LaVia) Ierardo. He was raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School with the Class of 1948. After graduation, Domenic enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country during the Korean War.

Upon his return home from the Navy, Domenic enrolled in classes at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He took a position as a draftsman with GT Sheldahl in East Providence. After welcoming his first son, Michael, Domenic moved his young family to East Walpole, Massachusetts, where he welcomed his son, James, and daughter, Susan. He began working as an independent consultant in and around Walpole until his retirement in 1983.

Once he settled into his home in East Walpole, as a devout Catholic, Domenic became a member of Saint Mary's Church. His backyard was filled up with his wonderful gardens, where he cultivated his famous tomatoes. Domenic enjoyed following current events and was an arm chair stockbroker. Throughout his life, Domenic loved animals, as a young boy he had dogs, as he got older, he loved being surrounded by his cats.

Loving father of James A. Ierardo of Norwood, Susan G. Ierardo of Mansfield, and the late Michael P. Ierardo.
Cherished grandfather of Michael, Matthew, and Melissa.
Brother of the late Dino T. Ierardo.

A private graveside service took place in the Calvary Cemetery in Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Neponset Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 544, Norwood, MA 02062. Arrangements by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, Walpole.
