Diane C. (Casey) Federico, age 63, passed away unexpectedly in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 2, 1953, she was raised in Roslindale and attended Holy Name Parish School through the 8th Grade. She went on to graduate from Mount Saint Joseph High School with the Class of 1971. After graduation, she began working as a claims processor at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She worked her way up to manager in the work management department.
Diane and Joe dated right after high school and then reconnected in 1982. They were married a year later on July 4, 1983. The couple made their home together in Norwood, Massachusetts, where they welcomed their two children, Matt and Kelly. After settling into their home in Walpole, Massachusetts in 1987, Diane was diagnosed with cancer. However her positive outlook, her love for the show "I Love Lucy", and the support of her family got her through her battle and she remained cancer free. Diane decided to leave her position at Blue Cross to focus on raising and caring for her young family. She did however, volunteer her time at the Boyden Elementary School and enjoyed babysitting the children of her close friends while at home. After her children had grown up, she returned to the working world, taking a position at Bristol Square Café in Walpole and in 2004, began working as a home health aide, caring for the elderly.
Diane was an incredibly social person and made friends with everyone that she met. She enjoyed entertaining in her home and as a gourmet cook, always had plenty of great food to go around. As much as she loved entertaining, she also enjoyed her quiet time relaxing with her dogs, Hogan and later Kaskae. However, more than anything, Diane truly loved being surrounded by her family. She and Joe took many family trips together, visiting Italy, Prince Edward Island, and Myrtle Beach. As a devoted Mom, she always supported Matt and Kelly's various activities and always looked forward to Friday Family Dinner Night at the Tavern in Wrentham.
Diane and Joe had a one of a kind relationship. Even after 34 years of marriage, they could often be seen holding hands and laughing together. Everyone idolized their love and commitment to each other and their family.
