Denise Biagini Grove, age 65, died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Emil Louis “Duke” and Sylvia Ciavattone Biagini. As the oldest among her many cousins, she enjoyed growing up as “The Big Sister.” In 1962, Denise and her family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she met her husband, John, in 1963, and graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School with the class of 1966. She married John on June 22, 1968 and they moved to Wichita, Kansas. Two years later, in 1970, Denise gave birth to her twins, Amy and Chris, and in 1971, Denise and John moved their young family to Warren, Michigan. While in Warren, Denise worked for the Macomb Intermediate School District, and graduated from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan with her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts in 1982. Denise made her home in Norwood, Massachusetts for the past 30 years. In 1988, she earned her Master’s Degree in Management from Lesley University.
While living in Norwood, Denise worked for Putnam Investments. She began her career as a writer and editor and rose through the ranks to become the Senior Vice President of Client Publications for major Putnam Clients. After leaving Putnam to spend time with her grandchildren, she began volunteering at Norwood Hospital. She was asked to join the hospital as a full time employee and later became the Marketing and Communications Manager.
Denise was a long time member of the Norwood, Massachusetts Historical Society and enjoyed interior decorating and design, yoga, as well as traveling with John. As a proud Grammy, she spent countless hours with her grandchildren. She loved watching Emma's ballet performances, Andrew's hockey games, and singing silly songs with Flynn.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Denise’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 3-8 PM and Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 8-8:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary’s Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA 50340-2018.
