Delabarre Francis Sullivan age 81 years died in the Roscommon Healthcare Center in West Roxbury, Massachusetts on Friday, April 6, 2012. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Irene V. (Hickey) Sullivan. He was a graduate of Boston English High School. He poudly served his country in both the United States Air Force and United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the DAV and was the former Post Commander.
Mr. Sullivan worked as a flight inspector for Pan Am.
He enjoyed boating and belonged to the Cottage Park Yacht Club in Winthrop. Most of all he loved to fly planes.
Loving father of Kerein Barrera of Walpole, Kevin Sullivan of Florida, Delabarre Sullivan of Framingham, Liam Sullivan of Framingham, Deirdre Baldassaro of Melrose, Colum Sullivan of Florida, and Patricia Cahalane of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Marissa and Ariana Barrera, Shane, Maria and Serena Cahalane all of Walpole. Brother of Irene Knapp of Centerville and Florida. Also survived by many nieces and a nephew and many friends.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church 56 Northern Ave South Boston on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 5-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury.
