David J. LaSalvia

May 20, 1965 — October 5, 2013

David J. LaSalvia, age 48 years, died in his South Walpole home on Saturday, October 5, 2013. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on May 20, 1965, he was the son of the late Leonard LaSalvia and the late Delores (DeMello). He graduated from Norwood High School with the class of 1983. He has been a resident of Walpole for the past 12 years moving from Norwood.

David spent his working career as a plasterer. As a hard worker, he owned and operated his company, DJL Plastering, for 20 years.

He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he was visiting the mountains in North Conway or playing golf. David was an avid sports fan and loved following the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. He loved to sing karoake and recently joined the Choir at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole. In addition, David enjoyed cooking and trips to Disney World. He will be remembered for being out going, his great sense of humor, and volunteering for many events and charities including the Food Pantry and the South Walpole Polls.

Most of all, David loved spending time with his kids. He would take them bowling and volunteered regularly at Fisher School in Walpole.

Beloved husband of Kerry A. (Smolinsky) LaSalvia. Loving father of Jessica M. LaSalvia of Norwood, Danielle N. LaSalvia of Norwood, and David L. LaSalvia of South Walpole. Brother of Joseph Mello of Norwood, Stephen LaSalvia of Norwood, Geraldine Folan of Norwood, Philomena Cotton of Norwood, and the late Nancy LaSalvia. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend David's Life Celebration on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 4-8 PM and Friday, October 11, 2013 from 9-9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond St. Walpole on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kerry LaSalvia Family Fund, c/o Dedham Savings Bank, 1428 Main Street, Walpole, MA 02081.
