Darrell F. Albee

Darrell F. Albee, Jr., age 93, passed away peacefully in the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Sunday, July 24, 2016. Born in Norwood on June 4, 1923, he was the son of the late Darrell F. and Catherine G. (McManus) Albee. He graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1943. After graduation, Darrell proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Upon his return from the Navy, Darrell settled back in his hometown of Walpole and took a position as an assembler with the General Motors Corporation in Framingham. He retired after 38 years of service. Darrell was a member of the United Auto Workers International, Local 422 from 1948 to 1980 and the Retirees Chapter from 1980. He loved spending time in Bar Harbor, Maine during the summer, after his retirement.

Loving father of Mary Elaine and her husband David Thurber of Foxboro, and Patricia A. Jondro of Walpole.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common St., Walpole.
