Daniel J. DeYesso, age 89, passed away in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Born in Roxbury on August 29, 1926, he was the son of the late Louis and Margaret (Iorio) DeYesso. He was raised in West Roxbury and attended Roxbury Memorial High School. After high school, Dan enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II.
After his honorable discharge, Dan settled back in Boston and took a position with Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a hearing examiner in the Division of Employment Security. He lived in Roslindale for 14 years before moving back to Roxbury. Dan met his soon to be wife, Ellen P. Brosnan, and they were married on May 15, 1971. Together they made their home in Dedham and later moved to Readville before settling in Walpole in 1987.
After his retirement in 1990, Dan found time to enjoy his other passions in life, including growing tomatoes in his garden, running, and spending time near the ocean. As an avid golfer, he loved playing at the George Wright Golf Course. Dan was an enthusiastic sports fan and enjoyed following both football and baseball. He especially loved making homemade wine that he created with his favorite uncle Tory.

Loving father of Louis DeYesso of Plainville, AnneMarie DeYesso of Dedham, Daniel J. DeYesso, Jr. and his wife Deborah of North Attleboro, Linda Murray and Kevin of Mansfield, Carole DeYesso of North Attleboro, Elena Marie DeYesso of Walpole and Christina DeYesso of Taunton.
Cherished grandfather of Tina, Joe, Elizabeth, Alyssa, Charlie, Andrew, Mark, Kevin Jr., Krystina and Hannah and great grandfather of Mia, Ryan and Jackson.
Brother of Louis DeYesso of Brewster, Margaret Bonnano of Canton, Jean Thompson of FL, Joseph DeYesso of Walpole, Michael DeYesso of AZ, the late Pasquale DeYesso and the late Mary McCarthy.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends and kindly invited to attend Dan's Life Celebration on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 2-6 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole, concluding with a Funeral Home Service at 6:00 PM. Interment will be private.
