Daniel Francis Coughlin

October 11, 1929 — May 5, 2014

Daniel Francis Coughlin, 84, a lifelong resident of the Town of Walpole, died peacefully in his own home on May 5, 2014. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on October 11, 1929, he was the son of the late George A. and Alice T. (Ahearn) Coughlin. He graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1947 and continued his education at Boston University, graduating with the class of 1951. Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He spent his working career as a Certified Public Accountant. He began at J.P. Darmody in Boston before joining Rowe, Power, & Coughlin in Boston, and later began his own firm, Daniel F. Coughlin CPA.

Daniel was the beloved husband of Nancy Hovey Coughlin and the loving father of Gregory Andrew of Haverhill, Jeanne Elizabeth of Lowell, and Geoffrey Michael his eldest son who pre-deceased him.

He is survived by his brother Thomas, his sister Rosemary both of Walpole and his brother Edward of Cincinnati, Ohio.

He leaves also his dear nieces and nephews, Eileen, Diane, Chris, and Ed.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 8:30 – 10AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
