Daniel J. "Red" Barrett ,76, died in his Norwood, Massachusetts home on Thursday, March 1, 2012. Beloved husband of Marie T. (Barry) Barrett. Loving father of Daniel J. Barrett, Jr. and his wife Susan Varley of Chelmsford, Diane M. Millin and her husband Robert of Norwood, Nancy A. Trask and her husband John of Norwood, Suzanne Galvin and her husband Ken of Norwood, Joanne Kelly and her husband Peter of Norwood, and Joseph E. Barrett and his wife Karen of Norwood. He was the cherished Papa of 17 loving grandchildren. Beloved brother of Donald Barrett of Clinton, NY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. . Born in Norwood on February 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Catherine Irene (Hannaford) Barrett. He was a Walpole High School graduate, class of 1953. He has been a resident of Norwood, Massachusetts since 1960 moving there from Walpole. "Red" loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and neighbors

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Catherine of Siena Church Washington Street (Route 1A) at Nahatan Street Norwood on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 2-6PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
