Cory June McCord Hannon, age 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 29, 2016, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on March 26, 1952, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Dudevoir) McCord. Cory was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where she was a stand-out athlete at Walpole High School. After graduating with the Class of 1970, Cory went on to attend Northeastern University, earning an associate's degree.
Cory had a long career in the medical industry as an X-ray Tech, Echo Tech, and Ultra sonographer. She had a kind and loving soul with a wonderful sense of humor and often enjoyed a good laugh. Cory was an avid Boston sports fan, enjoyed the ocean, and was a talented painter. She loved spending time with her family and was a fiercely devoted mother to her children, Lindsay and David. Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her granddaughter, Harper Ruth.

Ceremony service will be private at the request of the family. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Cory's Life Celebration on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 10 am - 12 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute on Cory's behalf.
