Claire M. (Horan) Richardson, age 60, passed away in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Saturday, October 8, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dorchester on July 31, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jean (Beaton) Horan. She spent her early years in Dorchester before her family settled in Walpole, Massachusetts in 1959. Claire attended Walpole High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Bernard J. "Bucko" Richardson, Jr. After Claire graduated in 1974, she took an administrative position with the Hill Machine Shop on School Street in Walpole.
Claire and Bucko took off on a cross country trip and spent a couple of years together in San Diego, California before returning to Massachusetts. After their return, Claire and Bucko were married on December 29, 1979 and made their home together in Walpole, eventually purchasing the home that Claire grew up in. Claire began working as an administrative assistant at Motorola in Mansfield and later took a position with the Moseley Corporation in Franklin. Most recently, she worked as a claims manager for Classic Furniture Services.
Claire looked forward to her annual trips to the beach, spending Easter weekend on Cape Cod and spending time during the summer at Hampton Beach. She and Bucko loved camping together, especially at the Forest Glen Campground in New Hampshire and later she passed the New Hampshire camping tradition on to her children at Old Stage Campground. Claire enjoyed cooking and spending time with her cats. As an avid Boston Sports Fan, she could always be found cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots. However, more than anything, Claire loved being around her children, treasuring every minute she spent with them.
