Christopher Vaughn White, age 67, passed away peacefully in the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Born in Sacramento, California on October 17, 1948, his family relocated to Roswell, New Mexico, where Chris spent his early years. In 1960, Chris, along with his family, moved to Springfield, Massachusetts. Chris graduated from Classical High School in Springfield, where he helped in producing the High School Newspaper, with the class of 1966. He continued his education at Texas Christian University, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Economics in 1970. Upon graduation, Chris took a position with Perkins Tabaco in Enfield, Connecticut.
After meeting his soon to be wife, Rosemary George in 1978, Chris transferred to Perkins Tabaco in Natick, where he became a field supervisor, overseeing 10 stores. He and Rose were married on December 27, 1980 in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston and together they made their home in Framingham. They spent a brief time in Norwood, Massachusetts, during which, Chris became the store manager of Bradlees's in Framingham, before settling in East Walpole in 1988. As Bradlees's began to downsize, Chris took the opportunity to take a position as the store manager of the USS Constitution Museum in Charlestown. He was later promoted to become the director of retail operations and Chris retired on October 30, 2015.
In his spare time, Chris took up photography and found he had a natural talent for it. He loved to focus on nature and architecture. His love of nature did not end with photography, as he enjoyed working on his flower gardens and planting trees in his yard. He was a member of many groups including, Trustees of Reservations, National Audubon Society, and Neponset Valley Watershed and would often volunteer his time with many other nature groups. Chris also had a love for the arts, he enjoyed the theatre and many genres of music, from classical, to jazz or the big 80's. On Saturday nights, he enjoyed cocktails with his wife by the outdoor fire place.
