Christopher P. Johnston, age 50, passed away in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts on September 25, 1968, he was the son of Patrick G. Johnston and Jeanne C. (Finnegan) Johnston. He was raised in Glastonbury, Connecticut, graduating from Glastonbury High School with the Class of 1986.
Shortly after graduation, Chris settled in Needham, Massachusetts and began taking classes at Massachusetts Bay Community College. As an avid musician, he took some summer classes at Berklee College of Music before continuing his education at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, majoring in philosophy and music. In 1998, Chris made his home in Walpole, working various jobs in the information technology field, most recently holding the position of field engineer with Omnicell.
In his spare time, Chris enjoyed following the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics, as well as watching episodes of Star Trek and Ancient Aliens. In addition, he enjoyed working out at the local Planet Fitness. More than anything, Chris loved listening and playing music. He could always be found with his guitar in his hands and he looked forward to attending various concerts with his close friends.
Devoted son of Jeanne C. (Finnegan) Johnston of Walpole and Patrick G. Johnston of Mesa, Arizona.
Loving brother of Patricia A. Johnston of Westwood and Stephen D. Johnston of North Carolina.
Cherished uncle of Pablo Hernandez and Kathleen Hernandez both of Westwood.
Beloved grandson of the late George and Margaret Finnegan and the late Patrick and Anne Walsh.
He was the adored nephew of many aunts and uncles and is survived by his many cousins.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Chris’ Life Celebration on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 11 AM to 12 Noon in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 12:30 PM.
