Christopher H. Jackson, age 89, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Born in Flushing, New York on November 19, 1934, he was the second of seven children of Willard and Anne (Henry) Jackson of Needham, Massachusetts. Chris was raised in Needham, where he attended Needham High School. Chris proudly entered the United States Air Force, serving as a morse code operator during the Korean War.

Following the war, Chris returned to his education, attending Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated with the class of 1960 and went on to attend the University of Massachusetts Boston for his master’s degree in education. Chris met Patricia A. Kelliher during his graduation ceremony from Umass and they married in 1967. The couple made their married home in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, where Chris was a very politically active citizen wanting nothing but the best for his community. Not only was Chris a resident of West Roxbury, but he also was a teacher in the community. Hundreds of young Bostonian men remember him fondly as beloved English teacher and administrator at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury where he spent his 38-year career. After retiring from Catholic Memorial, Chris enjoyed his later years as a recruiter for Nazareth College of Rochester NY.

In 1985, Chris and his family moved to Walpole, Massachusetts. His favorite place in life was playing golf at Walpole Country Club and afterwards, beating his buddies at poker and cribbage (or so he claimed). He also enjoyed weekly bridge games with the men in his neighborhood. He spent much of his time enjoying theater, museums and music in the Boston arts scene, devouring books on history, and traveling to the National Parks and Europe with his wife.

Beloved husband of 57 years of Patricia A. (Kelliher) Jackson of Walpole

Loving father of Kathleen Jackson of Pittsfield, and Kerry Jackson of West Springfield.

Brother of Willard “Bunky” Jackson of Needham, Thomas Jackson of Millis, Jane Jackson of Needham, Delia “Dee-Dee” Finneral of Lowell, the late William Jackson, and the late Maureen Jackson.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
