September 11, 1941 — May 18, 2016

Christine M. (Stefan) Noun, age 74, passed away in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Born in Albany, New York on September 11, 1941, she was raised in Newton, Massachusetts, graduating from Newton High School with the Class of 1959, where she was inducted into the National Honors Society. Christine continued her education at the New England Baptist School of Nursing where she earned her degree in 1962. Her nursing career started when Christine took a position with the Boston V.N.A. in Brighton shortly after completing Nursing School.

On June 20, 1964, Christine married the love of her life, William Noun in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They settled in Dorchester for a short time, and Christine transferred to the Grove Hall office of the V.N.A., where she became the Head of the Nurses Council in 1967. After welcoming their daughter Rebecca in 1966, Christine moved her young family to East Walpole in 1968 and in 1971 the family grew, with the welcoming of Victoria.

In 1972, Christine returned to her Alma Mater to take a part time nursing position with the New England Baptist Hospital working at night. After 13 years, she left the Baptist to take a part time position with Norwood Hospital on the Orthopedic Unit, which quickly became a full time position. In 1990, Christine transferred to the day shift and became the Clinical Nurse III Education on the Orthopedic Unit, where she was in charge of all In Service Education to member of the other units. While working in her position of Nursing Quality Assurance and Improvement, Christine finished her course work for her BSN at Assumption College in Worcester, graduating with the Class of 1992, with honors. Her graduation led to a promotion at Norwood Hospital, as in 1992, she was named Nursing Quality Assurance and Improvement Coordinator of Norwood and Southwood Hospitals. Christine received yet another promotion, becoming the Admission Nurse at the Transitional Care Unit. In 2002, after Norwood closed their Transitional Care Unit, she joined the Nursing Care Management Department, reviewing all patient charts for completeness and accuracy. Christine retired from Norwood Hospital in 2006 after 20 years of dedicated service.

In her retirement, Christine enjoyed spending time at her home on Cape Cod in South Dennis and staying active with the Daughters of Saint George. Most of all, Christine was a loving family oriented person. She cherished the time that she was able to spend with her grandchildren, Colin, Molly, Mason, and Devin.
