Christine Ann Bishop, age 53, passed away unexpectedly in her Halifax, Nova Scotia home on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts on April 14, 1966, she was the daughter of Robert A. Bishop and Jennifer Yates Bishop. She was raised in Southborough, Massachusetts and graduated from the Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough with the Class of 1984. Christine continued her education at Keene State College, earning her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts in 1988.
During her college years at Keene, Christine found her love for travel and spent countless hours traveling across the United States, visiting all the major league ballparks to catch a baseball game. Following her graduation, Christine took off for Australia, where a three week stay turned into three years. She left Australia and headed for Europe, making many stops along the way and taking in all the world had to offer. She eventually settled in Scotland, taking a position with Haggis Backpackers, helping others explore Scotland. Eight years after making her home in Scotland, Christine traveled back across the Atlantic Ocean to North America, landing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she met her beloved husband, Keith Carlaw. Christine established a new career while living in Halifax, as a founding member of Premier Executive Suites, an organization dedicated to providing executive accommodation for individuals and families who traveled for business and required long terms stays. She served as the Executive Vice President of Sales for many years before her retirement in 2016.
When Christine wasn’t hard at work, she loved relaxing on the beach with her family and friends. She also enjoyed day long shopping extravaganzas whenever she had time. However, most of all, she treasured the moments spent surrounded by those she loved so dear. She loved taking an active role in the lives of her stepchildren and always looked forward to seeing her nieces and nephews.
