Cherie M. (Soder) Weston age 59 years died in her Medfield, Massachusetts home on Thursday, February 25, 2010. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 9, 1950. She graduated from Libertyville High School in Libertyville, Illinois with the class of 1968; and later went on to graduate from the University of Illinois with the class of 1972. She has been a resident of Medfield, Massachusetts since 1993 moving from Westport, Connecticut.
Mrs. Weston was a homemaker but had previously taught 1st grade in Illinois, and later worked as a substitute teacher for grades K-6, including special needs.
She volunteered teaching CCD at Saint Edward the Confessor's Church in Medfield, and gave tours at the Garden in the Woods. She also volunteered her time to teach English as a Second Language through the Adult Education Program in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Weston enjoyed gardening, reading, dog showing, and home decorating. She loved all things Irish, and obtained her Irish Citizenship.
Beloved wife of Mark H. Weston. Cherished step daughter of Mary (Heischberg) Soder and daughter of the late Theodore and Diana (Glanville) Soder. Loving mother of Erik M. and his wife Heather Weston of Natick and Michelle D. and her husband Randy Newsome of Swedesboro, New Jersey. Cherished grandmother of Kayleigh and Audrey Newsome both of Swedesboro, New Jersey. Sister of Lynn Legner of Downs, Illinois, Scott Soder of Round Lake, Illinois, Pamela Saam of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Veronica Bostock of Acworth, Georgia, Denise Hughes of Round Lake, Illinois, Donald Fisher of Rouond Lake, Illinois, David Fisher of Antioch, Illinois, Karen Hildebrandt of Grainger, Indiana, and the late Theodore Soder. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Mass in Saint Edward the Confessor's Church Route 27 Medfield on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 5-8:30PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common St. Walpole. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, Massachusetts 01701.
