Charles F. Lohmiller

Charles F. Lohmiller age 91 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 17, 1919; he was the son of the late Charles Joseph and Ethel (Wilson) Lohmiller. He graduated from Medford High School with the class of 1937. Mr. Lohmiller served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was a Sergeant, and served as a radar operator in Africa, Italy, and France. He has been a resident of Sharon, Massachusetts since 1964 moving from Waltham.

He worked as an industrial photographer for 30 years most recently working for Teledyne - Philbrick in Dedham, Massachusetts.

Mr. Lohmiller enjoyed music, especially Jazz Music, sang in a Barbershop group, and sang in the choir at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon.

He enjoyed computers, photography, and reading. He was a private pilot and an artist, who could make or draw anything. He and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the world together; they visited Europe, South America, and Africa.

Most important to Mr. Lohmiller was his family, he loved to spend time with them, especially his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Margaret M. (Macomber)Lohmiller. Loving father of Charles Bradford Lohmiller of Sharon, Melanie M. Lohmiller of Foxboro, Keith Frank Lohmiller of Sharon, Eleanor Andrea Barstow of Perry, Maine, and the late Nancy E. H. Lohmiller. Cherished grandfather of Nancy Lohmiller of Sharon, Maggie Lohmiller of Foxboro, Frederick L. Barstow Grace E. Barstow both of Perry, Maine, and the late Linda Belliveau. Brother of the late George R. Lohmiller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows Sharon on Friday at 11AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 9-10:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park Canton.
