Charles J. Lawrie age 81 years died in his Walpole Home on Sunday, April 27, 2008. He was born in Canton, Massachusetts on June 3, 1926 to his parents John J. & Margaret (O'Connor) Lawrie. He had been living in Walpole since 1952, previously residing in Canton.
He served his country in the United States Army after World War II, during the American occupation of Germany.
Mr. Lawrie worked as a weaver for 43 years for Draper Brothers in Canton, Massachusetts.
He loved all of the Boston sports teams, Cape Cod, boating, fishing, and his ice cold beer.
Beloved husband of the late Dorothy K. (Petrovick) Lawrie Loving father of David J. Lawrie of Walpole, Patricia A. Thibault of Plainville, Richard P. Lawrie of Walpole, and the late James C. Lawrie. Cherished grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 1. Brother of Leonard Lawrie of Norwood, the late John and Robert Lawrie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Timothy's Church Nichols Street Norwood on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 @ 10AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 5 to 8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment in Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole.
