Charles E. Day

CHARLES E. DAY AGE 86 YEARS DIED AT THE HARRINGTON HOUSE NURSING HOME IN WALPOLE, MASSACHUSETTS, on Friday, March 24th, 2006. Born on October 30, 1919, in Roxbury, Massachusetts the son of the late George and Mary (Gorham) Day. A 1937 graduate of High School of Commerce in Roxbury. Mr. Day entered into the United States Army and served his country during World War II as a Sargeant in the Infantry.

A resident of Walpole for many years. He was a retired Warehouse Supervisor for the Hood Rubber Company of Watertown, which was bought by the BF Goodrich Company. Mr. Day was incharge of the Warehouse that was used for sneakers.

A member of the Walpole Council #1319 of the Knight of Columbus Mens Bowling League in both Walpole and Jamaica Plain he sang in the Mens Choral Group in Jamaica Plain.

Spent time last 11 years has been a crossing guard for the Town of Walpole, at the intersection of Route 27 and Old Post Road.

Beloved husband of the late Anna T. (Kisiel) Day Loving father of Virginia A. Gifford of Walpole, Anne M. McCarthy of Foxborough Father in law of Roger W. McCarthy, Foxborough Cherished grandfather of John Gifford of New York, Scott McCarthy of North Attleboro, Michael Gifford of California, and Kimberly McCarthy of Foxborough Brother of Joseph Day of Florida, Phyllis O'Keefe of Hyde Park, and Lillian Flaherty of Connecticut. also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church on Saturday, April 1st, 2006 @ 10AM. Visiting hours are Friday Afternoon, March 31st, 2006 from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole, Massachusetts . Interment Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
