Cecilia Meau

Mrs. Cecilia (Burgess) Meau age 82 years died in her Wrentham Home surrounded by her family on Sunday, Decmeber 12, 2010. Born in Hamilton, Bermuda on March 13, 1928, she was the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Chiappa) Burgess. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Hamilton. She moved to the United States and graduated from Henry O. Peabody School in Norwood. She worked at the Southwood Hospital in Norfolk from 1978 to 1992. A resident of Wrentham since 2002, she had previously lived in Walpole for over 56 years. An avid reader, she loved to do crossword puzzles and take care of her 2 parrots

Beloved wife of the late Alfred Meau. Loving mother of Michael Meau of Wrentham, Catherine Meau of Wrentham, Mark Meau of Franklin, NH, Robert Meau of Wrentham, James Meau of Duxbury, Elizabeth Winters of Wrentham, Patricia Stone of Norfolk, Christine Foley of Taunton, Edward Meau of Norfolk, Jeffrey Meau of Taunton, the late Teresa Meau, Paul Meau of Duxbury, and Thomas Meau of Wrentham. Cherished grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of 3. She was also the sister of the late William Burgess of St. Kitts, Alaire Gordon of Topeka, KS, and Jean Stewart of El Paso, TX. Also survived by many nieces ans nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church South Street (Rt 1A) Wrentham on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
