Catherine E. Winston

Catherine E. (Sweeney) Winston, age 63 years, died in her Walpole, Massachusetts home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, November 22, 2013. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Rea) Sweeney. She graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1968.

As a resident of Walpole, she was incredibly dedicated to her town. She served on the Walpole Finance Committee and as a Selectman for many years. She was an outspoken compassionate conservative, who would unselfishly volunteer for the needy.

Cathie worked for SM Lorusso in Walpole as the office manager for 8 years, retiring in 2012. She was a lifelong lover of antiques and the thrill of the hunt. In addition, she was a passionate chef, baker, and creator of amazing floral creations.

Most of all, Cathie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and a devoted friend.

Beloved wife of Dana M. Winston. Loving mother of Amy B. Winston of Roslindale, Andrew M. Winston of Jamaica Plain, and Edward T. Winston of Brooklyn, NY. Sister of Phyllis Gorman of Foxboro and Nancy Sweeney of Canton. Aunt of Chris Gorman of Foxboro. Sister in law of Ali Winston of Sheffield.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Cathie's Life Celebration on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A funeral service will be held in the Epiphany Episcopal Church 62 Front Street Walpole on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
