Catherine A. Needham

Catherine A. (Murphy) "Kay" Needham age 97 years died on Thursday, February 28, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 4, 1916, she graduated from Girls High School in Boston with the class of 1933. She went on to graduate from the Boston Clerical School with the class of 1935. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 45 years after moving from Dorchester. She was a member of Saint Mary's Parish in East Walpole.

She was a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.

Mrs. Needham enjoyed playing the piano, following the Red Sox, reading, and sharing her husband's BC Class of 1939 activities. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Beloved wife for 62 years of the late Paul W. Needham. Devoted daughter of the late Cornelius and Margaret (Cleere) Murphy. Loving mother of Paul W. Needham, Jr. and his wife Edna M. of Hanover, Daniel E. Needham and his wife Virginia N. of Norwood, Nancy C. Burns and her husband Richard A. of Derry, NH, Marie C. Murphy and her husband John E. of N. Attleboro, and Catherine P. Needham of Walpole. Cherished grandmother of Paul, Daniel, Brian, Diane, Brenda, Timothy, Richard, Michael, and Maureen and great grandmother of 12. Sister of the late Margaret Norton.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church 176 Washington Street East Walpole on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours are Monday, March 4, 2013 from 4-8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
