Carole A. Doyle

Carole A. (Bates) Doyle, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Natick, Massachusetts.  Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on June 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Cushing) Bates.  She was raised in Everett, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Everett High School.  Carole continued her education at Boston College (BC), earning her bachelor's degree in mathematics.  Following her graduation from BC, Carole took a position with the Centre School in Everett, teaching sixth grade.

Carole married her beloved husband, Leo M. Doyle, on June 27, 1964.  Together, they made their home in Stoneham, Massachusetts, where Carole took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family.  Carole served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for her two daughters, Diana and Kathleen, and remained active with the Girl Scouts of America for many years, serving as a mentor and teacher to other leaders.  As her daughters grew up, Carole returned to her working career, taking a position with Saint Patrick's Church in Stoneham, working as the CCD Administrator.  Following Carole's retirement from Saint Patrick's, she and Leo settled into their new community in Derry, New Hampshire, bringing them closer to their granddaughter, Amanda.

Carole and Leo loved to travel together.  They took many trips to Europe and looked forward to car trips across the United States, visiting friends and family along the way.  Back at home, Carole enjoyed evenings out at the theater and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and story teller and liked nothing more than to socialize with old and new friends.

Sister of the late Lt. Col. John F. Bates, USAF.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Carole's Life Celebration on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, High Street, Dedham on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will take place privately in New Hampshire.
