Carol H. McGovern

Carol H. (Hutchinson) McGovern, RN, age 75 years, of Holliston, Massachusetts on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Born in New York on March 27, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Healy) Hutchinson. She graduated from White Plains Hospital School of Nursing with the class of 1959. Carol later graduated from Westchester Community College. She has been a resident of Holliston for the past 15 years moving there from Dover, however her love was her home in Chappaquiddick.

Carol served as an ICU Nurse where she touched many lives. She was employed by the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, which later became the Metro West Medical Center and the Framingham Union Hospital. She retired in 2008. After her retirement, Carol continued to care for patients at the Martha's Vinyard Hospital as a Nurse Liason and volunteered at the Holliston Senior Center.

She enjoyed art classes, kayaking, traveling, and spending time at the beach. She loved riding her bicycle, especially on Martha's Vineyard. Most of all, Carol truly loved to spend time with her grandchildren and her dog, Oreo.

Beloved wife of Jim McGovern. Loving mother of Kelly McGovern of Natick, Joseph and his wife Ella McGovern of Florida, Linda and her husband Steven Eckles of Sherborn, Donna McGovern of Holliston, Lori and her husband Mark Stephenson of Natick, and Cocoa McGovern and Gary Reichert of Bellingham. Cherished grandmother of Chelsea, James, Carly, John, Geoff, Izzie, Matthew, Craig, Mary, Clare, and Grace. Great grandmother of Gabriel.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Carol's Life Celebration on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 4-7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A funeral service will be held in Saint Dunstan's Church 18 Springdale Avenue Dover on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holliston Senior Center 150 Goulding Street Holliston, MA 01746
