Carol L. (Wilson) Jacobsen, age 77, passed away peacefully in Wingate at Weston on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, after a lengthy illness. Born in Dover, New Hampshire on August 26, 1940, she was the fourth of six children born to the late Stanley and Jenny (Munkittrick) Wilson. She was raised in Woodstock, Vermont and earned her Bachelor's Degree focusing on Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut. After graduation, Carol worked in various hospitals in the country in the physical therapy department.
While at UConn, Carol met her husband to be, Leif D. Jacobsen, and they were married on January 29, 1966. The young couple initially made their home together in Randolph and Carol took a position with the Massachusetts General Hospital. After welcoming their first child, Carol left her physical therapy career to take on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family. The family settled in Walpole, Massachusetts and once all her children were enrolled in school, Carol became an increasingly active member of her new community. She was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Church, where she spent countless hours teaching CCD, and serving as both a Eucharistic Minister and Lector for many years. In her community of Walpole, Carol represented the "Welcome Wagon" for 12 years and was very involved with the Walpole Food Pantry.
Carol truly loved spending time with her family. She and Leif enjoyed spending time together at their lake cottage in New Hampshire and inviting friends and family to enjoy the lake and surrounding mountains. Carol and Leif led an active lifestyle, playing tennis and golf together as well as traveling throughout the United States and Europe.
