Carol Riley Holley, 82 of Walpole passed peacefully on April 27th. Formerly of Wellesley, Newton and Needham.
Beloved and devoted wife of James Holley who fondly called her "Bear". Carol was a loving, dedicated and wonderful mother to her daughter Kimberly Taylor and husband Dennis of Norfolk and her son Billy Riley of Newton. Both of her children were the apple of her eye. She also left behind one grandson, nieces and nephews. Her late sister was Shirley Surette. Formerly married to William Riley in 1960 of Centerville with whom she had her two beautiful children.
Among several careers, in her earlier days she was a model from Academy Moderne, dance instructor at Arthur Murray and later in years employed at the American Heart Association in Framingham, General Builders in Norwood and Desco Co. in Norfolk.
Carol was extremely genuine, fun-loving, giving and very unselfish as she put everyone before her first. She had a great and unique sense of humor - "hot ticket" as most would say, as she made everyone around her laugh. Carol was also an avid sports fan for most of them but especially football. She loved the ocean as many summers and great memories were spent down the Cape and at her favorite beach Old Silver in Falmouth. Carol also loved to cook and to go out to her favorite restaurants where everyone looked forward to seeing her, have her favorite martini and play her games of Keno. Words cannot express how much she will be missed and loved and what a great loss in our lives.
Because of her love of animals, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MSPCA or local animal shelter of choice.
The family will be having a celebration of life gathering at a later date. Details to follow.
