Carmel M. (Banfield) Franciosa, 81, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Bay Path Rehabilitation Center in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Christine (Linehan) Banfield. She was raised in the Dorchester area of Boston and graduated from Saint Patrick's High School in Roxbury with the Class of 1958.
Carmel married her beloved husband, Francesco "Frank" Franciosa, on June 6, 1965, in Saint Peter's Church in Dorchester. Together, they made their home in Dorchester, where Carmel took on the role of a homemaker, crafting delicious dinners in her kitchen. In 1972, she and Frank left the city, making their home in the small town of Walpole, Massachusetts, where Carmel loved feeding and watching the local wildlife.
Throughout her life, Carmel was a voracious reader, reading books cover to cover in a matter of days. She also enjoyed to baking and was known for her wonderful desserts. Most of all, Carmel loved spending time with her family and was often called upon for her memory of the family's history.

Loving sister of Glenda Banfield of Wareham, Sharon Murphy of Norton, the late Joseph Banfield, the late Robert Banfield, the late Paul Banfield. the late Cyril Banfield, and the late George Banfield.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Carmel's Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.
