Carl A. Beckstrom, Jr., age 76 years, died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Carl A. and Helen M. (Smith) Beckstrom. He graduated from Roslindale High School with the class of 1955. He has been a resident of Norfolk, Massachusetts for the past 40 years.
Carl spent his working career as a technician at the Hewlett Packard Company in Waltham. He retired in 1999 with 40 years of service.
He enjoyed building miniture boats and doll houses. He took great pride in his vegetable garden and was known for his tomatoes. Carl was a member of a bowling league at the Highway Bowlway in East Walpole and was an avid reader, who was always quick with a joke.
Beloved husband of Mildred M. (Cleary) Beckstrom.
Brother of Rita M. Puorro of Franklin and Roy E. Beckstrom of Florida.
Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Carl’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 4-8 PM and Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 9-9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Jude’s Church 86 Main Street Norfolk on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
