Betty Anne Wissman

Betty Anne (Anderson) Wissman age 86 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Sunday, March 14, 2010. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on June 9, 1923; she was the daughter of the late Axel H. and Anna E. (Peterson) Anderson. She graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1941; and went on to graduate from the Connecticut College for Women with the class of 1945. She was a lifelong resident of East Walpole.

Mrs. Wissman worked as an administrative assistant for the Norfolk Mental Health Association for 15 years.

She was a member of the Union Congregational Church in East Walpole, where she lead Bible Study Groups.

Mrs. Wissman was a member of the East Walpole Book Club, a volunteer at Norwood Hospital, and served on the Board of Trustees at Norwood Hospital. In addition, she was instrumental in the development of New Pond Village in Walpole.

She loved both gardening and cooking.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Wissman. Loving mother of Elizabeth A. Walendziewicz of Burlington and William H. Wissman of Arnold, Maryland. Cherished grandmother of Cynthia Brooks of Burlington, Laura Walendziewicz of Burlington, Eric Wissman of Memphis, Tennessee, and Brian Wissman of Arnold, Maryland, great grandmother of Benjamin Wissman and Alexander Wissman both of Memphis, Tennessee.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Service that will be celebrated at Union Congregational Church 55 Rhoades Avenue East Walpole on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 1 PM. Visiting hours are omitted. Interment will be private.
