Bertha C. (Doucette) Carey age 97 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Monday, May 24, 2010. Born in Natick, Massachusetts on August 17, 1912; she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Doucet) Doucette. She graduated from Natick High School with the class of 1930. She has most recently been living in Walpole, Massachusetts, but had previously lived in Norfolk, Massachusetts since 1995. Prior to moving to Norfolk, she had lived in Walpole, Sandwich, Natick, and Newton Highlands.

She was primarily a homemaker; however she did work in retail sales in some department stores.

Mrs. Carey was a devoted Catholic, attending Mass daily. She was a member at Saint Jude's Church in Norfolk; and was a former member of Corpus Christi Church in Sandwich, where she worked on crafts and the Catholic Guild.

While living at Hillcrest Village in Norfolk, she held Rosary groups, bingo groups, card groups, and line dancing groups in her home. This countinued when she moved into a nursing home.

She enjoyed fishing on the Cape Cod Canal and served as a Brownie leader in Natick for 10 years.

Beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Carey Loving mother of Pauline T. Bortolussi and her husband Fred of Walpole and William D. Carey and his wife Diana of Ohio. Cherished grandmother of 3 and great grandmother of 12. Sister of the late Philomena Morris, Lucille A. Fair, Francis Doucette, Joseph Doucette, Sara Mae Baker, Edward Doucette, and Dena Farrell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Jude's Church 86 Main Street Norfolk on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery.
