Bernice L. "Bunny" (Fisher) Buttimer of Walpole died on September 1, 2011 at the Harrington House Nursing Home in Walpole after a lengthy illness. She was 91.
She was a lifelong resident of Walpole and until her illness, lived in the house she was born in. She was a graduate of Walpole High School and Gillis Business School.
Bernice was a volunteer at the Norwood Hospital Gift Shop for 23 years. She was active in the First Congregational Church in Norwood, take part in plant sales and the Christmas Fairs for many years.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, skilled gardening, and her love of family.
Daughter of the late Bernard W. Fisher and Maude L. Randlett. Beloved wife of the late John O'Toole and Thomas Buttimer. Loving mother of Robert J. O'Toole of Norwood, Janet L. Dardano of Saco, Maine, Thomas F. Buttimer of Falmouth, Barbara A. Baines of Rockland, and the late Michael E. Buttimer. Cherished grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 2. Sister of the late Robert Fisher. She loved to travel to Cape Cod with her good friend the late Bernard Johnson.
A private service was held and burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Walpole. In leiu of flowers, please commit a random act of kindness on Bernice's behalf. Arrangments by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home Walpole.
