Bernard M. Ryan age 79 years died in the Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts on November 22, 2010. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 22, 1931; he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Ryan. He graduted from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts with the class of 1949. Mr. Ryan served his country during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1962.
He worked for New England Telephone for 37 years, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 222.
Mr. Ryan was an avid Boston Sports Fan and enjoyed his landscaping and woodworking projects. Most of all he was a devoted father and grandfather.
Beloved husband of the late Cornelia C. (Canney) Ryan. Loving father of Christine M. Caci of Walpole, Stephen B. Ryan of NC, Patricia A. Ryan of Altadena, CA, and David J. Ryan of Canton. Cherished grandfather of Alexander Caci, Arianna Caci, Robert Ryan, and Sarah Ryan. Brother of Mary T. Ryan of Milton, Daniel Ryan of Middleboro, and Ann Ryan of Milton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, November 26, 2010 from 2-4 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole, Massachusetts.
