Bernie met the love of his life, JoAnne through a friend. The two were married in Brighton on July 12, 1975 and celebrated 49 years of marriage together. They made their married home in Brookline where they welcomed their first child, Chris, before moving to Sharon. The couple then welcomed their daughter, Jennifer, and their family was complete.
Bernie enjoyed traveling internationally for work and visiting different states around the country. He was a talented photographer, capturing landscapes and self-portraits. Bernie loved adventuring on his motorcycle and riding up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. He spent many summers with his family on the Cape and traveled with his wife to Paris in 2019.
