Bernard Cunnane

February 17, 1917 — September 12, 2007

Mr. Bernard Cunnane age 90 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital, Norwood Massachusetts on Wednesday, September 12th, 2007. Born in Crossard, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland on February 17, 1917, the son of the late Michael and Ellen (Nolan) Cunnane. Educated in Ireland.

Moved to Walpole in the fall of 1947 and raised his family there.

Mr. Cunnane worked as a mechanic/ card grinder taking care of the machine that combs the cotton at Kendall Mills in Walpole. He retired in 1981 with over 30 years of service.

Mr. Cunnane lived for his family, his children and especially his grandchildren. He loved to attend all of their functions and especially enjoyed all of their sporting events.

His next passion was taking care of his yard, and being an expert handyman around his home and the homes of his children. He was good with his hands and at one time had a second job refinishing furniture.

He was a long time and devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox

Beloved husband of Teresa N. (Folliard) Cunnane Loving father of Michael E.and Gail L. Cunnane of Walpole, Brian J. and Linda C. Cunnane of Springfield, Kevin P. and Janice C. Cunnane of Wrentham, and Richard J. Cunnane of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Scott and his wife Lisa, Timothy, Christopher, Jason, and Eric Great grandfather of Joshua Brother of the late Mary Turco, Kate Cunnane, Imelda O'Keefe, Margaret Hebner, Patrick Cannon, John Cunnane, and Michael Cunnane Also survived by many nieces and nephews

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Rt 27) @ Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, September 15, 2007 @ 11:30 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, September 14, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Saint Francis Cemetery.
