Benny Yun, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024, at his home in Medfield, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Seoul, South Korea on July 31, 1954, he was the son of Kyesik and Chongyol Park. Benny was raised in Seoul where he received a college education as well as served for three years in the South Korean army.
Benny married the love of his life, Youngok (Han) Yun on December 21, 1974, in Seoul, South Korea. Together they would raise a beautiful family and in 2000, they would immigrate to the United States, making their home in Arlington, Massachusetts. Benny and his young family would move to Westboro, Massachusetts in 2004 and then to Framingham, Massachusetts in 2009, before settling into their home in Medfield in 2016.
Benny was a skilled carpenter and made a career specializing in finish carpentry, adding the final details to projects to help make a home look complete. He was devoted to his profession, putting in countless hours to ensure everything was done perfectly, only stopping when he was satisfied with the final product. Benny retired earlier this year after many years of beautifying homes.
In his free time, Benny enjoyed spending time with his family. He was excited to welcome his grandchildren, spending as much time as he could with them whenever possible. One thing he loved to do with them was share his passion for playing and watching sports. Benny enjoyed playing tennis and volleyball, and was an avid Boston sports fan. He loved watching a Celtics or Red Sox game, and especially loved the Patriots. Benny also enjoyed working around his house, taking pride in his ability to improve his home. He also enjoyed spending time on the ocean, casting a line to deep sea fish on charted trips off Cape Cod.
