Barbara A. Herlihy

Barbara A. (Devine) Herlihy age 90 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Constance (Sharpe) Devine. She graduated from Saint Gregory's High School in Dorchester with the class of 1941. She has been a resident of Wrentham, Massachusetts for the past 4 years, having previously lived in Foxboro for 20 years and Sharon for over 30 years.

Mrs. Herlihy was a librarian in the Sharon Public School system for 10 years, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of the Women's Club at Our Lady of Sorrows and enjoyed gardening. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Beloved wife John E. Herlihy, Esq. Loving mother of Eileen Buckley and her husband Donald of Franklin, Edward Herlihy and his wife Clara Musto-Herlihy of Walpole, the late Ann Descoteaux, her husband Richard of Newburyport. Cherished grandmother of 6. Sister of Dorothy Ware and her husband Paul of Milton, Eleanor Swain of Falmouth, the late Marjorie McArdle, her husband Frank of Quincy, the late Joseph Devine, David Devine and Constance Corey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday morning from 8:30AM to 9:30AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be private at the request of the family.
