Barbara Jean DiGiantommaso

Mrs. Barbara Jean (Pungitore) DiGiantommaso age 74 years died in the Brigham and Womens Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on October 22, 1933 to her parents Dominic and Barbara E. (Michienzi) Pungitore. A 1951 graduate of Norwood High School and the Henry O. Peabody School. She later graduated from Bridgewater State College with a degree in Psychology. Finally from Fisher Junior College with a Medical Secretary certificate. Mrs DiGiantommaso worked for Charles Hergrueter, MD a Boston Plastic Surgeon, and retired from there in December of 2001.

Presently living in Plainville, she had lived in Walpole from 1952 till 2005, moving to Walpole from Norwood.

Mrs. DiGiantommaso had a passion for singing, and was a member of the Neponset Choral Society for over 50 years. She also assisted in the theatrical make up and costumes for all of there productions.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph DiGiantommaso. Loving mother of Mark A. DiGiantommaso of Needham, Jean C. DiGiantommaso of Barre, VT, Joseph A. DiGiantommaso of Walpole, and Barbara L. DiGiantommaso of Rehoboth. Cherished grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 4. Sister of Dorothy Hibbard of FL, Josephine Michel of Norwood, Carmelia Neville of VA, and Dominic Pungitore of Holbrook. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Rt 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, September 27, 2008 @ 10 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, September 26, 2008, from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home . 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Saint Francis Cemetery.
