Barbara A. Cocci

Barbara A. (Butler) Cocci, age 78, died in the Tippett Home in Needham, Massachusetts on Friday, June 13, 2014, after a difficult struggle with lung cancer. Born in Beverly, Massachusetts on November 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Elmer L. and Christina P. (Magee) Butler. Barbara graduated from Dedham High School with the class of 1953 and continued her education at the Peabody School of Nursing. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 2002 moving from Dedham.

She worked as an LPN for 15 years at the Wrentham State School, retiring in 1992.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph N. Cocci. Loving mother of Ann M. Cocci of Salem, Charles J. Cocci and Suzanne Lane of Brockton, Barbara L. Cocci and Jane Cotter of Dedham, Christina F. Cocci of Walpole, Paul P. Cocci of Dedham, Jeanne H. Campbell of Dedham, Sandra E. Fitzgerald of Norwood, Sara E. Carter and Jeffrey Carter of Millis and the late Joseph B. Cocci of Dedham. Cherished grandmother to Peter, Tessa, Kevin, Christie, Katherine, Joanna, Cara, Scott and Sunny and great grandmother to Nicholas, Braiden and Collin. Sister of the late Christina Watson and Mary Packer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her dog Angus.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Barbara's Life Celebration on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 4-8 PM and Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 8-8:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, High Street, Dedham on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Medfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 271, Medfield, MA 02052, or the Tippett Home, c/o VNA Care Network and Hospice, Development Office, 199 Rosewood Drive, Suite 180, Danvers, MA 01923.
