Mr Auvo A. Aho age 91 years died in his daughter Walpole home on Monday Morning March 16th, 2009. Born in Wierton, West Virginia, the son of Willliam and Aino (Wikkola) Aho. He served as a Merchant Seaman Veteran of the Winter War from 1939 thru 1940, Finland 2nd Russia Volunteer. Corporal in the Massachusetts National Guard.
He has been a resident of Barefoot Bay , Florida for the past 19 years.
Mr. Aho was an administrator with the Union Local # 735. He was in charge of Health and Welfare.
A member of the Teamster Local #25 Boston, Glacier Palm Bay Senior Center, Scandinavian Club of Barefoot Bay, South Brevard Senior Center, Barefoot Bay Art Guild, member of the Norwood Elk Lodge 1122 where he was Past Ruler , Life Member, and past District Deputy . As an avid outdoorsman he was a charter member and Life Member of the North Walpole Fish and Game Club
Beloved husband of the late Violet (Ranta) Aho Loving father of Arlene Thomas of Walpole Cherished grandfather of Steven Thomas, Kevin Thomas , Renee Thomas all of Walpole and the late Peter Thomas Great grandfather of Michael, Scott , Justin Thomas and the late Jacklyn Thomas
