Petrovek , August "Red" of Walpole formerly of Norwood, December 21, 2007 age 85
Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on July 18th, 1922 , the son of the late August and Mary (Plazic) Petrovek . moved to Walpole and graduated from Walpole Senior High School with the Class of 1940. He entered into the United States Army and served his country during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the 331st Infantry Regiment. Upon his return from the Army he went to work for the New England Telephone Company. 35 years later he retired from there as the Right of Way Agent on March 21st, 1985.
A member of the Knights of Columbus Norwood Council #252, the Norwood BPOE Elks, and a Telephone Company Pioneer. He was one of the founding members of the Norwood Little League, where he also was a well respected Little League Coach. Mr. Petrovek also coached Norwood American Legion Baseball.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Saint Mary's Church 176 Washington St East Walpole on Wednesday , December 26th, 2007 @ 9AM. Visiting hours and interment are private. Memorial donations may be made to the Norwood Little League 1315 Washington St Norwood, MA 02062.
