Arthur G. Sotir

Arthur G. Sotir, age 85 years, died in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Monday, April 7, 2014.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Gouri and Gjilo Sotir.  He was a graduate of Hyde Park High School.  After high school, Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was stationed in Germay and was discharged in 1952 as a Corporal.  He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 54 years moving from Roslindale.

Arthur spent his working career as a machinist.  He was employed by the Barnstead Company in West Roxbury for 40 years and then worked for an additional 10 years at the Natick Labs.

As a man of faith, he was a strong member of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed follwing the Walpole Rebels and the New England Sports Teams, especially the Boston Celtics.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandson, Drew, who was the light of his life.

Loving father of Susan Denn and her husband Michael of Walpole, Steven Sotir of Walpole, and Pamela Beaudet and her husband Andrew of Walpole.
Cherished grandfather of Drew Beaudet of Walpole.
Brother of the late Fotina Demitri, Argile Sotir, and Rachie Sotir.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Arthur’s Life Celebration on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole.  A Funeral Service will be held in Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown Street, Weston on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown Street, Weston, MA 02493 or Compassionate Care Hospice 800 West Cummings Parkway, Suite 3400, Woburn, MA 01801.
