Arthur Hayes Owings

Arthur Hayes Owings of Saint Petersburg Florida, died on Friday, July 24th at
age 96. Mr Owings was a Walpole resident from 1958 until 2009. He was born in
Knoxville Tennessee on November 27, 1918 and received his education at Chilhowee Academy in Tennessee. He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II.

Mr Owings' professional career encompassed many aspects of the travel industry. He worked as a supervisor for both Eastern Airlines and Varig Airlines. He was employed as a regional manager for Sheraton Hotels before opening the Dedham Travel Agency.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Anne Furey
Owings, his sister, Ruth Owings Lee of Maywood, CA, and his brother, Ralph
LaFayette Owings of Knoxville, Tennessee. He is survived by two daughters,
Missi Owings of Gulfport, FL, and Bonnie Owings Grace of Lakewood, CO, and his beloved companion cat Griselda.

Friends and Family are kindly invited to attend Arthur's Life Celebration on Wednesday July 29, 2015 from 5-8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common St, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond St, Walpole on Thursday July 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Walpole Food Pantry, PO Box 43, Walpole, MA 02081, are welcome.
