Arthur Francis Cudmore

May 4, 1925 — February 3, 2014

Arthur Francis Cudmore age 88 died in the Veterans Administration Hosptial, West Roxbury, Massachusetts on Monday, February 3rd, 2014. Born in Boston, on May 4, 1925, the son of John F. and Elizabeth (Donahue) Cudmore. He graduated from Dorchester High School and entered into the United States Coast Guard. He served along with 4 of his brothers during World War II. Upon his return home he entered and graduated from Boston College. He lived in Dorchester until moving to Walpole in 1973.

Mr. Cudmore worked many years at the South Station Postal Annex in Boston as a mechanic for the letter sorting machinery. He also invented and earned 2 patents for improvements and new sorting machines. He enjoyed his summers on the Cape and sitting outside with his cup of coffee.

Beloved husband of Geraldine F. (Usher) Cudmore Loving father of Lorraine Johanson of Watertown, Helen Roach of Westwood, Patricia Lodi of Acton, and Paul Cudmore of Northbridge. Cherished grandfather of Teresa, Thomas, Nicholas, Alexander, Amanda, William, Benjamin, and Nathaniel. Brother of the late Thomas Cudmore, the late William Cudmore, the late Vincent Cudmore, the late Warren Cudmore, the late George Cudmore,the late Jeanne Neary, and the late Geraldine Cudmore.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral that will be celebrated at Saint Timothy's Church Nichols Street Norwood on Friday, February 7, 2014 @ 10AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, February 6, 2014, from4pm to 8pm at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole . Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Massachusetts. Memorial donations may be made to: National Federation of the Blind, Massachusetts Chapter, 104 Ripley Street, Newton Center, Massachusetts 02459.
