Annmarie T. Donovan

May 27, 1950 — September 26, 2017

Annmarie T. (Sheridan) Donovan, age 67, passed away in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 27, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Francis M. and Margaret (Callanan) Sheridan. She was raised in Roslindale and was very active with her parish's CYO program, where she was a champion bowler and earned the Bill Mullen Award. Annmarie graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School in Jamaica Plain with the Class of 1968 and continued her studies at the LaBoure School of Nursing, earning her R.N. in 1971. She quickly found work at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, where she became the head nurse on the orthopedic floor.

Annmarie married her husband, William F. Donovan, on October 28, 1972 in Holy Name Church in West Roxbury. The young couple made their home together in Norwood, Massachusetts before settling into their home on Irving Drive in Walpole. After welcoming her three boys, Billy, Matt, and Jeff, Annmarie left her nursing career to become a stay at home mom, raising and caring for her young family. She enjoyed staying active in her boys' lives, and served as a Little League coach and Cub Scout leader throughout the early 1990s. Annmarie also kept active in her parish, Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole, regularly played the guitar during services and serving as a youth group director, volunteering countless hours traveling to West Virginia with the youth to help build homes.

As her family grew up, Annmarie returned to her nursing career, however this time privately to her community, providing in home care for those who needed it in Walpole. She also took a position with the Harrington House at New Pond Village in Walpole, working as a floor nurse, usually picking up the late-night shift.

Annmarie began working at April's Market in Foxborough and quickly became the Store Manager. She continued working at April's until they closed, at which time, she seamlessly transitioned to her new job at Page's in Stoughton, again wasting no time before becoming a manager. For the past three years, she worked at Bob's Food Mart in Stoughton as the Deli Manager, working right up until the day she was diagnosed with cancer.

Annmarie and Bill loved to travel together, they enjoyed visiting Key West, Ireland, Italy, and Canada. Through the Knights of Columbus, they traveled across the United States and always took in a baseball game and visited the zoo, wherever their destination may have been. As an avid sports fan, she loved following the Red Sox and Patriots, and could be found cheering for them whenever she could.

While Annmarie worked quite often, she would always make time for her family. She loved teaching her sons how to cook and after welcoming her grandchildren, loved taking weekly trips to see them. Her favorite tradition was celebrating Christmas Eve at the Hibachi in Norwood, where she was able to spend time with those closest to her. She will always be remembered as a selfless person, who always put the needs of other before herself, but was still able to enjoy the High Life.
